CORTEX: intelligence work with an audit trail.

Manage requirements, collection, evidence, analysis, review and controlled release in a governed intelligence workspace. Keep the reasoning and source references attached to the report that reaches the decision-maker.

For analysts, intelligence managers and accountable reviewers

A requirement can become detached from its collection plan when evidence sits in shared folders and report approvals sit in email. CORTEX retains the requirement, evidence references, analytical judgement and release decisions within a governed lifecycle. Reviewers can inspect the reasoning behind a product before authorising its dissemination.

The requirement-to-release record

Requirement → Collection → Evidence → Analysis → Review → Release → Feedback. Each stage needs a retained relationship to the intelligence question and the material used to answer it. Test report revisions, confidence assessments and requirement satisfaction together, rather than evaluating the reporting screen in isolation.

Evidence and human judgement

Source references and provenance remain available alongside the analyst’s assessment. Optional AI assistance can support translation, extraction, summarisation and drafting. It cannot approve intelligence or replace the person responsible for the final judgement and release decision. Evaluate how an assisted draft is identified, challenged and corrected.

Deployment and identity

The official product description identifies Local, Team, Edge, Secure, Enterprise and Hybrid profiles, with local-first Docker Compose and a Kubernetes/private-cloud enterprise target. Confirm the delivered release, identity integration and synchronisation scope. Handling policy, permissions and security approval depend on the selected environment.

Where NERVE fits

AIC describes NERVE search and evidence interfaces serving CORTEX. Confirm which approved holdings are discoverable, how a reference resolves to the original and what happens when access changes. This relationship does not establish a universal integration path across the Constellation portfolio.

Evaluation questions

Can a reviewer trace a released report to its requirement and source evidence? Does a report revision preserve earlier approvals? Can a denied user discover a restricted record through a search result? Who can authorise controlled release? Ask to test these cases with approved representative data.
