NERVE: governed access to source information.
Bring supported source types into one information layer, preserve the accepted original and give authorised users a way back to the exact record behind a result.
When holdings are split across import paths
Data platform owners and investigators need to establish which record was received, how it was processed and whether a search result is available to the requesting user. NERVE brings approved source families into a governed information layer without treating the original and its extracted content as interchangeable.
Acquire, preserve, transform, govern, discover
Acquisition records capture the accepted material. Originals are preserved before supported processing produces derived content. Versioned transformation runs retain their history. Access policy is applied before search results, counts and facets are returned. Exact evidence locators give the user a route back to source.
Original, derivative and evidence locator
The original is the accepted source record. A derivative is an output of a recorded transformation, such as extraction, OCR or translation. A locator identifies the relevant evidence within a source. Reprocessing should create a new transformation run without silently replacing the evidence behind an earlier citation.
Sources and discovery interfaces
Supported connector families include files, messages, device packages, databases, APIs and feeds. Confirm individual formats and connector versions before committing to an evaluation. NERVE Explorer supports discovery; CORTEX and approved integrations can consume supported search and evidence interfaces. NERVE is not the authority for analytical judgement or report release.
Operating profiles and access policy
AIC describes Local, Disconnected, Private Cloud and Approved Cloud profiles. Organisation, dataset, protective handling, privacy and purpose constraints are evaluated before discovery. Agree retention, deletion, workload identity and audit requirements for the intended release and operating boundary.
Evaluation questions
Can a result resolve to the exact original and evidence locator? Does a new transformation retain earlier citations? Are denied records excluded from counts and facets? Which source-specific metadata survives extraction? Test these cases using approved sources and a deliberately restricted user.
