Work with investigative material under clear authority.

Authorised investigation teams need to retain source context, control access by purpose and show how a reviewer reached a conclusion. Legal authority and necessity must be established before material is ingested.

Establish purpose and authority

For a lawful internal investigation, identify the case purpose, authorised material, responsible reviewer and retention requirements. Access to software does not establish authority to collect or process personal information. Exclude covert monitoring, illicit access and sensitive profiling from the proposed workflow.

Retain mixed-source records

Approved documents and messages can require different extraction paths. NERVE can preserve accepted originals and transformations for supported sources. Confirm exact formats, privacy restrictions and the policy applied before search results or facets are shown.

Keep review decisions traceable

CORTEX can retain requirements, evidence references, analytical work and controlled release where it fits the organisation’s process. A reviewer should be able to distinguish a source record from a judgement, inspect revisions and identify the person authorising the output.

Evaluation questions

Can a permitted investigator resolve a citation to its original? Are unrelated teams excluded from discovery? What happens when purpose or access changes? Can retention and export decisions be demonstrated? Assess deployment, licensing and information-handling requirements before using real case material.
